About "Too Soon"
The inspiration and story behind the song, “Too Soon”, is how social media and the internet have enabled people to say things to others that they never would say face to face. There are a lot of angry words being spoken and written; it is spilling out over into our society. Others’ opinions are not necessarily true, my opinions are not necessarily true. It seems people have lost their ability to make space for others’ viewpoints. We have become polarized. It is possible that the truth actually sits somewhere out in the middle? We make a lot of assumptions about others based on one piece of information and BOOM! Just like that, we have filled in all the blanks about them without knowing them. People can be different from us and still be worth knowing. Being alike is not a prerequisite to being loved or respected by me. Sure, there will always be people we prefer to not be around. Shouting others down, being keyboard warriors, and being hateful is a waste of time and energy. It is okay to step out of that noise and turbulence. Why waste our time, breath, energy, or thoughts on what we have no control of? The only thing that matters, in the end, is being kind, real, and authentic with communications.
I hope my listeners/fans will be entertained; I also hope the words resonate with them. People are feeling caught up in the noise; it’s ok to not participate. It’s ok to be friends with someone who doesn’t agree with you. Just because your beliefs don’t line up with someone else’s - things don’t have to take a nasty turn. We are all discovering, learning, and growing (and that is OK).
I co-wrote this song with my long-time friend, Scott Greeson, while standing around a shelter house at the Battleground Battlefield in Battle Ground, IN. This particular location was where Chief Tecumseh and William Henry Harrison fought the Battle of Tippecanoe during the War of 1812. Tecumseh was forming a Native American confederacy and promoting unity among tribes. He knew their only hope for victory was unity among the tribes. I recall us talking about this and discussing current events in the world today. The melody and lyrics came to us during that visit.

"Too Soon" Lyrics
Verse 1
There’s a storm of confusion;
thunderin’ through my brain
Windy words are blowin’;
like a hallelujah hurricane
Written in sand, opinions of man,
wash out to sea
Friends, say what they feel;
I keep it real
Not sure what to believe
Chorus
No great philosophy
Or words that haven’t been said
No need to calculate
Thoughts, running through my head
I’m not the smartest guy in the room
I gotta say, it’s okay; if you sing a different tune
Life comes and goes too soon
Life comes and goes too soon
Verse 2
Yeah I dreamed I was the only one,
on a lonely island
By myself, I found wealth;
being open minded
Truth was the anchor
that freed me from fear
There’s was no doubt
what life was about
In the silence I could hear
Chorus
No great philosophy
Or words that haven’t been said
No need to calculate
Thoughts, running through my head
I’m not the smartest guy in the room
I gotta say, it’s okay if you sing a different tune
Life comes and goes too soon
Life comes and goes too soon
Verse 3
If you’re caught in the current,
in over your head
Find your own life jacket,
tread away from what’s been said
Let the waves keep on crashin,
let them make their noise
When there's nothing to say,
drift away
A shipwreck to avoid
Chorus
No great philosophy
Or words that haven’t been said
No need to calculate
Thoughts, running through my head
I’m not the smartest guy in the room
I gotta say, it’s okay if you sing a different tune
Life comes and goes too soon (too soon)
Life comes and goes too soon (too soon)
Hey, it’s just a simple truth (too soon)
Life comes and goes too soon (too soon)
Life comes and goes too soon

Malachi's Bio
Malachi's songs blow modern country music backwards, invoking nostalgic feelings of historic family ties, railroads, and heartland America. He's forging his own brand of hopeful, relatable Americana, pulling from personal experience to connect with audiences on a deeply human level. The songs are written with a captivating honesty rarely found in modern music. He’s also an open, vulnerable songwriter: From the richly narrative lyrics to the melodic hooks, his work is infused with compassion and authenticity.
In July of 2021 he dropped his dynamic debut EP “Fearless”. Produced by GRAMMY-nominated, engineer/producer Matt Coles. Fearless celebrates the growth that can result from adversity.
With his single “An American Hero,” Jaggers conjures the wide open prairies where heartland music was born. It weaves an anthem dedicated to those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom. Inspired by his grandfather, who worked on the railroad and served in the Navy in World War II. In the fall of 2022, “An American Hero” was up for consideration for the GRAMMY ballot along with his most recent single “What Are You Waiting For?”

After returning home from the Florida tour, his hometown newspaper “the Carroll County Comet” interviewed Malachi about his recent tour: https://www.carrollcountycomet.com/articles/malachi-jaggers-home-from-florida-tour/
Malachi recently performed at the historic Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, TN and was well received. This September 2023, Malachi’s song “Look At It Go” will be featured in a scene in a BYU-TV show called, “Ruby and the Well”. October 27, 2023 brings the release of his single “Too Soon”.
